The Neighbor that Knocks and Knocks

Do you have a neighbor that likes to complain? My husband and I have a neighbor like that. No matter what we do, this neighbor comes knocking on our door. We live in a two bedroom downstairs apartment in an apartment building. The neighbor that is directly above us, does not like any noise.

My husband and I are not party animals. We do not have wild noisy parties, most of the time we are pretty quiet. One day, my husband wanted me to listen to 2 songs. When the last song was done, we were going to turn our cd player off. Before it finished, we got loud knocks on our door. Our neighbor was complaining because the music was too loud. I went up the stairs to see if you could even hear music, I could not. I do not know how our neighbor had even heard the music. One day, it was about our bathroom fan being on. Another day it was about us parking in our neighbors spot. The neighbor assumed because we had a blue car, it was our car. We had to show our neighbor that our blue car was parked in our spot. Some days, it is so hard to relax because I am afraid of a knock on the door.

My husband and I continue to show this neighbor respect and kindness. Some days I would love to give this neighbor a piece of mind. I will not. This neighbor is older and very lonely. Complaining gets this neighbor much needed attention. I hope someday that neighbor knocks on our door and just wants to visit. My husband and I will continue to breathe and move around our apartment. It is our home and we are respectful of the apartment rules. If our neighbor has a problem, we always know that there will be a knock on our door.
