Fun Times

Thursday, March 4, 2010

It has been a long time since I posted pics of Cole. Here are some new ones that I just took. He is now 10 1/2 months old and growing every day. I am enjoying every minute and always have my camera just in case:)

The Classic Spaghetti scene!
You have to have a pic of your child eating spaghetti, it's the classic baby moment!
You should have seen my floor, yikes!

Where's Cole?
Cole does not like pajama time. He likes to crawl away!

Cole and Curious George
Ben and I took Cole to Burger King a couple weeks ago.
He LOVED the crown and wore it after his bath.
And of course he is with Curious.

Cole's favorite toy? Diaper boxes!!
Cole and I spend a lot of time playing with diaper boxes. We stack them, put toys in them and Cole uses the boxes as transportation:)

Those are my Cole pics for now. Don't worry, I will have more soon!

I Confess.......

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

I am confessing a not so proud mommy moment to you. This moment was so scary and it could have been prevented. I am sharing, so that it won't happen to your baby.

On Sunday, Ben was taking his computer apart. He placed six tiny screws on his computer desk. I saw the computer was apart, but never asked where the screws were. Around 2:00P.M. Cole was crawling by the office area. I NEVER thought anything of it even when he coughed. As soon as he let a little cough out, Ben knew. Ben ran to the computer area, and looked at his desk. Only five tiny screws sat on the desk. Ben grabbed Cole, looked him over and called our nurse hot line and I frantically searched for screws.

The nurse said that the screw would pass. We should only go in if Cole suddenly hiccups a lot, or has trouble breathing. Suddenly the hiccups came and came. We took him in and they took a x-ray! Sure enough my son had a screw in his tummy! Fortunately, the Doctor said he would be fine. All we had to do was make sure the screw passed.

On Sunday night, I hugged my son tighter and didn't want to leave his side. I knew that it could have been serious. On Monday morning, Cole had a stinky diaper and mommy had to play the diaper digging game. All I can say is YUCK. However I was so HAPPY when I saw that tiny screw in there. I jumped up and down!

Ben and I learned a HUGE lesson! Ben now has his screws in a container and they are on top of the fridge. We will be careful from now own cause babies will put anything in there mouth!

Post it Note Tuesday: A Bad Case of the Mornings

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Last week I started babysitting Jenna's kids. I thought I was all prepared, I was not. When it comes to the morning, Cole and I are not cheery morning people. Cole gets up, I feed him and than we go back to bed. For about three more weeks, we need to be out of the house at 6:40 A.M.!

Last week was a nightmare! As the weeks pass, I hope Cole and I can be those go lucky morning people.

For Post it Note Tuesday, I share the best of the worse last week! If you want to join the fun, head on over to Adventures with Supah Mommy!

Have a wonderful week and hopefully my mornings get better. Are you a morning person?

Friend Makin Monday- What's your style?

Monday, March 1, 2010

Today it's all about our design style. I am so glad that Amber had this topic. I had no idea what my style is and my house needs some help in the style and decor department. I have a couple rooms that need a pop of color and some decorations.

Amber had us head to one of her favorite sites, Sproost and take a style quiz. It was fun to see what my style was. Here's the results of the quiz!

50% Mountain Lodge Style
33% Contemporary
17% Wine Country Style

Here's favorite pics of the three styles

Here are 2 pics of the Mountain Lodge style.
I LOVE this look.
My Hubby and I are dreaming to own a log cabin.
I could see myself in a home like this

Here is my favorite Contemporary look
I like that it's cheery, and open. I could also see myself in a home like this, but maybe not with Cole. White and Cole DON'T mix. Come to think of it, maybe without the hubby also:)
It could be my hideaway.
Here is the wine style
It looks so warm and inviting. I LOVE the chairs!
After seeing the results, I have a better idea of what I want in my home. Now I will be on the look out at garage sales, flea markets and sales.

What is your style? Head to Amber's for Friend Makin Monday.

Friday Follow

I am so glad that this week is over. I had some very unexpected and scary things happen. On Tuesday, Cole had a 102.1 temp which was scary. He didn't look good so we bundled him up and took him to the ER. After a couple hours, we were sent home. They first thought it was a bad ear infection and than strep throat, but it turns out it's a combo of a cold and teething. I am really HATING teething, but am so relieved that it wasn't serious.

On Wednesday, I got a call from my dad. My mom was in the ER for chest pains. We all were so scared. On Thursday, she was transferred to a bigger Hospital. On Thursday afternoon, my family got great news. It turns out that mom had some minor blockage near her heart, and meds will make it all better. She is getting released today and will be back home. Once again I found myself Thanking God.

It has been a week filled with sleepless nights due to Cole, but a week full of gratitude. I am so thankful that Cole and my mom are okay. I am so relieved!

Now on to a happier note. It's Friday Follow which means a day of meeting neat bloggers and reading some really cool blogs. I can't wait to follow more fun bloggers. It has been a great experience for me and I am enjoying meeting all of you!

The Jean Mission

Thursday, February 25, 2010

During the month of January, I was one fat burning machine. I saw my goals, ate healthy and exercised. I lost 4 pounds and was on a roll. In February, I stalled, ate lots of chocolate, hid from my exercise bike and gained 2 pounds. I wasn't a fan of February and was way off track. I let stress get the better of me and I ate my feelings. Since February is almost over, it is time to up my game.

Last Saturday, my Hubby helped me. We stopped at Fashion Bug were they had boyfriend jeans on sale. Normally the boyfriend jeans are 29.99 at Fashion Bug, last week they were the item of the week at $17. As I grabbed a pair in my size I stopped. It was time to get motivated and start a mission. I grabbed a size smaller and paid for them.

When I got into the car, second thoughts flooded my mind. I told Ben that I don't think I can do it. He said, "Sara, you can lose this weight and you will look cute in those jeans!" I am now more than determined to wear those jeans this summer.

Here's my beloved Boyfriend jeans. I am not wearing them quite yet, cause
I can't get them buttoned.............yet!
Here's how I like them. This is how I will be wearing them except with flats.

Now that I told you my mission, I am bound and determined to wear those jeans! I can't wait to wear them and take a picture.
This week I stocked up on veggies, fruits, nuts, and other healthy goodies. Whenever I don't want to exercise, I see my jeans that my hubby hung in our room for me. I also have been downing the water like it's my precious Diet Coke and also have been staying away from my precious Diet Coke.
I lost my way, but I am more determined.

Bank Dance

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Ben, Cole and I went to the Bank. I know sounds exciting, right? However, it was. We got Ben's' student loan all paid up. It felt so good! I just wanted to start dancing, Ben wanted to shout for joy and Cole did both. He felt the excitement, so he just went for it.

It feels very WONDERFUL to have the loan paid off. We still have one loan left. When our tax return came, we had a moment. Ben and I were so tempted to use the money for apartment items and a vacation. After a small moment of temptation, we knew what we had to do. We made a loan payment and now have only half of that loan to pay.

In a perfect world, we would have the rest of the loan paid by next year. In this world, it might take a couple years. I don't think our car is on our Team. I keep telling it to please wait and die after the last loan payment is made. We shall wait and see.

Right now the plan is to keep saving and paying our loan off. Ben and I need to stay focused and make sure we stay on budget and get the loan paid off. The longer we stay focused, the sooner we can go car shopping.
